Eighth annual Business Forum a success

2015 Business ForumThe 2015 Great River Greening Business Forum was a success, bringing together 300 business professionals and community leaders to hear Jay Lund, CEO of Andersen Corporation, speak about ‘The Green Home of the Future.”Lund talked about the challenges of making high-performance dwellings more mainstream and affordable. It’s an important topic because buildings on average are responsible for 40 percent of U.S. energy consumption, and the building sector is one of the largest contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions. This was the 8th annual Business Forum, which Great River Greening hosts to reinforce the connection between a healthy economy and a healthy environment. Learn what’s possible when a diverse cross-section of stakeholders come together to address issues facing us all.Presenting sponsors were Stoel Rives and Land O’ Lakes.

“The technology and processes are changing rapidly as we learn more about what it takes to build a sustainable, energy-efficient home. Any time you are on the cutting edge in construction, it tends to cost more rather than less. In order to allow us to push the envelope and create a more sustainable home, the help of our corporate partners is critical, it’s very important.” - Jay Lund, from a Finance and Commerce article by  Brian Johnson about the Business Forum, 10/ 23/15
