Minnesota Corn Growers cheer on Gophers with a gift to Great River Greening

This football and hockey season, Minnesota Corn Growers will donate to Great River Greening for great performances from the MN Gophers at home games.$100 will go to Great River Greening for every extra point the Gophers score, and every save the Gopher goalie makes.

“Every time a Gophers extra point sails through the uprights, it’ll provide a boost for a variety of conservation efforts in Minnesota. We appreciate the partnership with Minnesota’s corn farmers and look forward to an exciting season of Gophers football.” Deborah Karasov, Executive Director of Great River Greening

The Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) and the University of Minnesota share a longstanding partnership in the areas of research, conservation and economic impact. Once again in 2016-17, that partnership is extending to the football field and hockey rink.

“Our partnership with the U of M is very valuable. We’ve come up with some unique new initiatives this year to make our partnership even stronger.” Noah Hultgren, a farmer in Raymond, Minn., and President of MCGA

Funds from the Gopher Sports/MCGA to Great River Greening will be used for our work in agricultural watersheds, bringing collaborative solutions to water quality issues.
