Fall 2012 volunteer events

Hundreds of volunteers have turned out so far this year, rain or shine, on both the chilly and spectacular fall weekends. This season's restoration efforts continue:

Saturday, October 20

  • 100 volunteers will be removing buckthorn and honeysuckle around Colby Lake in Woodbury.

October 27

  • 100 volunteers will be planting trees along the Rum River near Cambridge.

We are also excited to be hosting 120 volunteers from the University of St. Thomas at our Fish Creek site in Maplewood. Students will be planting trees and setting up an outdoor lab to monitor the effects of global warming on our native vegetation. Thanks to all our volunteers for their terrific work this fall! Watch for a recap of the Fall 2012 volunteer events in next month's email.
