Happy Pollinator Week! What are your favorite pollinators?

Wiley Buck, senior program manager, weighs in on his picks:

Monarch butterflies: Truth is stranger than fiction. How can a butterfly know to migrate in a direction that hasn't been done for 4 generations? No parents, grandparents, or great grandparents to lead the way and no one else in your group has ever done it either. The royalty of all migrations. And a fine pollinator all the same.

Giant Swallowtails: A professional thank you to the Giant Swallowtail for loving a plant - prickly ash - that is hard for us humans to appreciate. That was a big, early restoration lesson that reminds us all to stay humble and not let our human-centric view rule the day; an important lesson as we navigate climate change... and recognize the wisdom to accept black locusts in certain areas.
