Wiley manages our Central Minnesota program. Duties include leading the Anoka Sand Plain Partnership, a group of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and local government units (LGUs), committed to conserving the Anoka Sand Plain ecoregion on a landscape scale. Wiley also leads Great River Greening’s participation as a restoration/enhancement and community engagement partner in the Camp Ripley Sentinel Landscape (CRSL) Partnership, including our work funded by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF) ML2021_08a CRSL Forest Restoration and Enhancements, and the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD).
Prior to our geographic re-structuring, Wiley managed Great River Greening’s ENRTF allocations in the Metro Conservation Corridors Partnership Phases 1-10. Integral to his grant management, Wiley is a key member in Great River Greening’s climate resilience team, with his accelerated migration projects, spearheading our first gravel bed project, and as an active member of our biochar initiative team.
Prior to joining Great River Greening, Wiley worked at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MnDNR) – Scientific and Natural Area (SNA) Program for six years, and had seasonal stints with the University of Minnesota Extension, MnDNR - Biological Survey, private firms, McHenry County Conservation District, and The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Chicago Wilderness Program (volunteer). Wiley has a master’s degree from the Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology at the University of Minnesota.
